On March 20, 2010 - Received
information from John Feola regarding family
genealogical information. John Feola is the
grandson of John Feola, the brother of Theresa Feola.
Thank you John Feola! From his information we were
able to update the picture of Frank Feola's wife, Lena
and the two small boys in the photo (click
here for the photo) The person he is talking
about in the foregoing e-mail is the little boy on the
right, who passed away on the weekend of March 13, 2010)
The child on the left is his Uncle Johnny. Lena in
the middle is his grandmother. E-mail below.
E-Mail from March 20th -- Hello my
name is Frank Feola. I am the grandson of Francesco
(Frank)
Feola. I believe he was your uncle. I see a picture of
him on your
website. Also there is a picture of my grandmother Lena
with two
children. The one on the right is my dad who is also
named Frank. (I
think that makes him your cousin) the other child is my
uncle Johnny
another cousin of yours.
I went with my dad to the reunion you had a number of
years ago. It
was nice to meet some family that I never knew I had. He
also realy
enjoyed himself.
My dad passed away this past weekend after a long battle
with cancer.
I dont know if you knew him very well or at all but we
are going to
miss him very much.
I found some info about his family that I know very
little about
while cleaning his apartment out. I was looking for more
info on the
Internet when I came across your website. I just wanted
to say hello
and let you know about my dad.
Let me know if I may be able to help out with any info.
Thanks,
Frank Feola

On February 6, 2009 - Robert
Barnaby, Jr., son of Robert Barnaby sent great
information regarding his grandfather, Jesse Barnaby,
grandmother, parents and great documentation. We thank
Robert for his extremely useful information! THANK
YOU BOBBY!! His e-mail is below:
Terry, thanks for this, awesome! Way to
Diane!
Terry, as you know, I have been dabbling in to this a
little bit, on line, and by contacting local town
clerks. Also I have been to the Massachusetts archives a
few times to look up original records in the archives.
I have about 20 scanned docs including some
certificates. I will include some with the reply. My
dad's (your uncle Bob) birth certificate will show
parents, as will grandfather Jesse's, grandmother Eva's
and great grandfather Frank Lounsbury Barnaby's death
certificate which also has the name of the cemetery,
Lindenwood which is on Montvale Ave in Stoneham. The
cemetery deed shows Frank L and Mary E as well As Jesse
F and Eva G Also great aunt Mary T and her husband.
I used Jackie's work as a jump off point and muddled my
way around, finding that names, dates and places do not
always correspond from one source to another. I am
seriously limited with time because of the kids and my
two jobs so the research goes slowly. One conflict that
I found was the identity of Mary E (Jennings) Barnaby.
She has been listed as Mary E an Mary C. The ledgers at
the Mass archives show several Mary Jennings born in
Massachusetts during the 1870 era, plus or minus a few
years, however, there is only one Mary E listed and she
was born in Concord in 1869 to John and Mary (Bonnell)
Jennings who were both from County Galway Ireland, not
in Peabody as has been stated. The marriage record for
Frank L Barnaby and Mary E Jennings show her age as 19
when they were wed which gives her a birth year of 1869.
The other Mary Jennings in the birth ledger are all born
in years that would make her a year or two older or
younger than the 19 on the
marriage record. Noting that the marriage certificate
names parents of William and Susan in Peabody who may
not have been her birth parents, it is likely that when
Mary E was young, she may have been sent to live with
family members to be raised. This was not uncommon for
the era.
I hope this is of interest to you.
This was an answer to:
