LODOWICK BURNABY......1838-1895 . Son of Job and Parna (Freeman) Burnaby, one of the lumbering family who lived on Glenwood  St. (Beaverdam Lane).  This family evolved from privateering families, which developed large areas of timberland, i.e. Burnaby Lake, and had sawmills and retail outlets in this area. The Burnaby's later bought John Minard's Mill on Potanoc dam, and also operated a general store called the Klondike Store. Usually referred to as "Lad" Burnaby, his family consisted of ten children, all are written up in a study of the Burnaby/Barnaby families of Nova Scotia.  Author of the book-study was Harding Burnaby of Toronto, grandson of "Lad" Burnaby..Copies of this book are at the Queens Co. Museum, Liverpool, and the Public Archives of Nova Scotia.
